Problem-solving and student knowledge construction are key
components of the Lapeer County TALAC classrooms. In TALAC classrooms technology is
utilized to research, create, and produce projects that focus on real-world problems,
situations or driving questions.
There
are currently 30 problem-based technology rich classrooms operating in Lapeer County.
Each TALAC classroom is equipped with on-line computers, video-camcorder,
television monitor and VCR.
The
TALAC project is sponsored by the Lapeer County Intermediate School Districe and Local
School Districts with funding from a GOALS 2000 Professional Development Grant awarded by
the Michigan Department of Education.
