WELCOME TO MR. DEMAS' TALAC CLASSROOM WEB PAGE!

Hello! Let me start off by introducing myself. I am Mr. Demas, and I have been teaching seventh grade Social Studies and Language Arts for over five years at Imlay City Middle School. Not only am I a teacher, I also coach the seventh grade girls basketball team. Every year has brought new challenges and rewards and each year keeps getting better and better. Since last year, I have been a proud participant in the Lapeer county TALAC program, which gives me a chance to teach Social Studies in a completely different way from the traditional style. Throughout my classes in Social Studies, students will be involved in solving problems while they learn. This is called problem-based-learning, or PBL. In addition to solving problems, students will be working intensively with technology accessing the Internet and using PowerPoint to create final reports and products. To find out more about TALAC, and PBL, and to see samples of student created projects and classroom lessons, click on the links below. I hope you will find this web page informative and interesting. Thank you for visiting. Come back often for updates.
